It’s been a pleasure to have painted with Miguel Bounce Perez, Robert Trujillo from my crew, Trust Your Struggle, and Chris Gazaleh for Reem’s California, the new Arab bakery and restaurant at Fruitvale BART Station in Oakland. It’s only been open for a couple days now but it’s been the buzz in town.
In Reem’s own words:
“Oakland is the closest to home that I’ve ever felt as a child of immigrants… As someone who’s struggled to feel like I belonged at home, I want to recreate that for myself and for people.”
